This site is being developed to provide fun information on the U.S. Presidents. Like all things it takes time. At this point I have added information on all of the Presidents and have begun adding information on the First Ladies. I will provide a link to that page soon.

I will be adding:

  • The section on First Ladies has been posted. It is a work in progress at this time.
  • Links to other sites
  • Nicknames of the Presidents - Added.
  • Things that Presidents have in common ie place of birth, lived in log cabins etc.
  • Videos that I can embed in the site
  • More images. I try to make sure that all of the information and videos and images provide the right to add them tto the site.
  • More facts and quotes from all the presidents.
  • Books that I think are good books on these topics.

The ads and book links on this site help me to pay for the web space and domain charges that I have to pay for the site. I know that some times they can be agrevating. I don't use pop-up ads and I try to put the ads in out of the way places.

If you have additions and or corrections for the site, please email them to me at jim@anewadventure.org.

Thanks,

Jim

The Presidential Oath of Office

" I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Qualifications for the Presidency of the United States
Constitution: Article II, Section I, Paragraph 5:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen years a Resident within the United States.

Lesson Ideas:

Use the facts from the links on the left and the pictures at http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/presidentsday/color/
presidents.pdf to create a one page project. On the front they can color the the picture and the second on the back they will write facts and stories of one of more Presidents. This is an easy one to three day project on the Presidents. If you have time each students can read the facts she/he likes about the President they choose.
Read some of the trivia and facts to the class. Assign each student or pair of students one president. Go to the library or the internet and have your students find other interesting facts on their assigned President.

Have the students prepare and give one minute speeches about their President. Have the students present it in the first person. I was the 16th President of the United States. etc.
